Privacy Policy

The short version: We collect minimal data, we don't sell your information, and we don't track you across apps. Your preferences stay on your device and sync privately via iCloud.
1. Information We Collect
Location Data (optional): If you grant permission, we use your device location to find the nearest beach and provide localized conditions. Location data is processed on-device and sent only to weather API services to fetch forecasts. We do not store your location on our servers.
Preferences: Your saved beaches, selected activity, user type, and scoring weight customizations are stored locally on your device and synced across your devices via Apple iCloud. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Push Notification Token (optional): If you enable push notifications, Apple provides a device token that we store securely on our server solely to deliver notifications. This token cannot identify you personally.
Subscription Status: Managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We verify your subscription on-device. We do not collect or store your payment information.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
- We do not collect browsing history or app usage analytics
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- We do not use the Facebook SDK or any social media tracking
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties
3. Third-Party Services
- Open-Meteo — Weather and marine forecast data. Approximate location coordinates sent to retrieve forecasts.
- NOAA — Tide data from publicly available government APIs. No personal data sent.
- National Weather Service — Marine forecasts from publicly available government APIs.
- Supabase — Push notification delivery. Only device notification tokens stored.
- Apple iCloud — Syncs preferences across your devices. Encrypted by Apple.
4. Data Storage and Security
Preferences and cached data stored locally on your device. Push notification tokens stored securely with encryption at rest. All network communications use HTTPS.
5. Children's Privacy
Not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
6. Your Rights
- Delete your data: Uninstalling the App removes all local data. Remove iCloud data via Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage.
- Disable location: Settings > WAWA 30A > Location.
- Disable notifications: Settings > WAWA 30A > Notifications.
7. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes reflected on this page with an updated date.
